Getting to Know Us... Part 1

It's funny, as a small business owner you're always so busy putting your business out there, that sometimes you don't get to put yourself out there. And we think WE are a pretty essential part to our business, and we really love showing YOU who we are, how we work, and what it's like behind the scenes at Little Bird HQ's.

So, we're going to do a little post series - it won't be a long one, there's only two of us - to introduce Courtney and Janelle and who we are behind the Little Bird lens.

So here it is, part 1 of our 2-part series, introducing Courtney...

First up, a few personal questions:

Who is Courtney Dixon and what are you doing when you're not being an awesome boss lady?

I am a serial dreamer and massive beach lover. I have a crazy laugh and I am sometimes too honest for my own good. When I'm not working, you'll find me hanging out at the beach or local coffee shops with my dogs and my daughter Ruby, getting outdoors with my friends, cooking and cleaning. LOL!

What's your favourite ice cream flavour?

Cookies and cream!

You’re a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why?

Blush Pink - I just can't get enough of this colour at the moment! It's girly and classy all at the same time.

What are you known for?

Not going to lie, I can be a bit of a party animal! Or I may be known for my annoying laugh!

And now let's talk business:

How would you describe your brand in 5 words or less:

Friendly, experienced, affordable, passionate, fun

How do you define success?

Success for me is accomplishing small tasks each day that will add up to achieving bigger goals. Since starting Little Bird I have realised that 'Rome can't be built in a day' and that if I focus my energy on one step at a time I will eventually achieve the bigger goals.

Success for me is also making my clients happy. Seeing things happen for their businesses.

What's your favourite piece of advice for other small business owners?

Never underestimate the power of marketing. And get out there and hustle.

One word that defines how you work:

My best work comes from when I am deep in thought. Passionately? Madly? Deeply? LOL

What inspires you as a business owner?

Seeing other businesses like Little Bird succeeding. This fills me with such inspiration and motivation to keep striving! I believe that you cannot dampen your success by supporting others.

Why did you start Little Bird?

I originally started Little Bird because I could see that there was a gap in the market between small businesses and online marketing. Small business owners don't necessarily know how to market themselves and the only option used to be going to big agencies where small business owners are often overlooked or made to feel 'dumb' with all of the marketing lingo. I wanted to be that person that could consult, plan, and create strategies with small businesses so that they understand where their money is being invested and they aren't ripped off!

Stay tuned for the second part in our series where we get to know partner #2 - Janelle!

And of course, if you're interested in having us as your partners in marketing, hit us up - we'd love to chat (especially if it's over coffee)!
